Resulting from practical experience with clients, this version integrates important updates to the Architecture domain, notably:

  • Enterprise Architecture founded on required business capabilities, favoring a service-oriented architecture (SOA) approach;
  • A "Definition of Capabilities" process to rapidly respond to the need to adapt the enterprise architecture to new business requirements;
  • Team structure focusing on three key roles in the process: Specialist in Enterprise Architecture, Business Architecture and Technology Architecture;
  • More intuitive documentation structure easily adaptable by project teams;
  • Glossary adjusted and enriched with terminology related to requirements and Service Management;
  • An approach that goes beyond the traditional enterprise architecture frameworks by taking a holistic view of the business and work architecture;
  • Implementation of the enterprise architecture management process as proposed by COBIT® 5;
  • Integration of business analysis activities as proposed by frameworks such as the BABOK®;
  • And many more important changes to be discovered in the What's New section (under "Support" on the Macroscope menu bar).

Additional changes will soon further enrich this version, in particular:

  • Processes to support management and governance of the enterprise architecture;
  • Available since 2014, August 15th: Enriched techniques to support the definition of business capabilities and of the business and technology component architecture.
